The situation of the world in brief:
--

In 2052, most parts of the world have plunged into poverty and even though the most horrendous diseases of the 20th century are now easily curable, new and more dreadful ones have taken their place. People are struggling through their lives while trying to keep their pride. Even though politicians claim that these problems are ultimately caused by global terrorism, people seem to have lost interest in following what's going on, most not questioning the presence of multinational forces such as UNATCO on the streets and those who see them as invaders have practically no idea about their supposed enemy's or even their own motives at all.

But behind the scenes, a major power struggle is in progress. Once in control of the world, the Illuminati has lost its power and influence, its assets having fallen into the hands of various splinter organizations, largest of them being the Majestic 12 and the Black Widow Syndicate. Hot spots of the world include USA - torn apart by another civil war, China - MJ12's control over the mainland government feeling threatened by BWS's damaging presence in Hong Kong and Russia - unanticipated and its potential sought by both MJ12 and BWS, unaware that the Russian XVA Communications is planning the same with the rest of the world.

To win the struggle, MJ12 has unleashed its first nano-augmented agent Mad Ingram, monitored and controlled closely since his birth, an agent of the Chinese government, sent out to Hong Kong to prevent a major catastrophe from occuring...

Major Organizations in brief:
--

Majestic 12:
By the terms of manpower and total influence, MJ12 is the most successful splinter organization of the Illuminati and is behind most of the fiendish threats a 21st century human has to face, most notably the Grey Death virus. With Bob Page and Walton Simons as its leaders, their struggle to assimilate both BWS and other threats that may follow drives them into new acts of terror against the world. While the "nuisance" NSF keeps them busy in America, Hong Kong's thriving free market is still keeping them from assuming control over all China and is one of the roots of its problems.

Black Widow Syndicate:
Learning a lesson from its mother organization, BWS has succeeded in both maintaining its own assets as well as infiltrating Majestic 12 itself. In fact, the Black Widow has assimilated most of the remains of the Illuminati in itself while claiming that it is planning to take the mantle back from MJ12. Indeed, despite their efforts, MJ12 has always had trouble in tracking down BWS's influential members and the sources of its operations. Becoming more paranoid than ever, MJ12 is sure that Black Widow might be maintained right behind their backs.

XVA Communications:
While Page Industries have assumed control over the western world's (as well as Chinese) Internet networks, its most formidable rival is the main Internet service provider of the Russo-Mexican Alliance (also operating in the Middle East, ex-Soviet states and Africa), controlled by Alexia Novikov. Novikov is a scheming figure who is in good relations with both MJ12 and the BWS, but secretly she has realized the threat MJ12 is starting to form against Russia and has begun her own plans to assume the control of the world from both MJ12 and the Black Widow.

Minor Organizations in brief:
--

Trifolium Corporation:
To the public, Trifolium Engineering was a close associate of VersaLife, but behind the scenes the corporation was a MJ12 vanguard in its plan to establish control in Russia, similarly called Operation Trifolium, which involved - among other things - the construction of an Universal Constructor on the underground levels of their headquarters. After MJ12 discovered Larry Fay's ties to the Black Widow, Russian shareholders lost their interest in the corporation and operation Trifolium was terminated to cut back enormous costs, the corporation's Russian wing getting shut down. The corporation's property was acquired by Yumashev Industries, one of Novikov's various puppet corporations unbeknownst to MJ12. With the help of industrial espionage, XVA has managed to finish the Universal Constructor for their own needs.

Yumashev Industries:
Yumashev Industries is a multinational Russian corporation that was founded by members of the Illuminati in the 1960s. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Yumashev faced a crisis that was solved by the ex-General Andrej Valenti who dispelled the Illuminati from controlling the company. During the various Russian crises of the 21st century, the company was wealthy enough to bribe the Russian
Pacific Fleet onto its side. With the resources the company had formed during the Illuminati era, it succeeded in strengthening the Russian forces at the area, stabilizing and clearing the Russian
Mafia and business oligarchs from the area. However, the company faced several crises itself and started to become unable to maintain its assets which attracted Russian Mafiosi to the area. To save
the most stabile and integrated region in Russia, Alexia Novikov made a deal with Yumashev's board of directors and bought the company under XVA-Com's control and protection. This act was
not out of kindness but a strategic manoeuvre giving Novikov and XVA control over the strongest Russian military force and made her the most influential person in Russia.

Main Plot Development Plan Starting From 07/07:
--

In the aftermath of a major terrorist attack in Shenzhen, the freshly nano-augmented agent of PRC's Ministry of Public Security, Mad Ingram, is sent to Hong Kong as the terrorists announce that a similar attack is going to be conducted in Hong Kong. After a special unit finishes its investigations at the Shenzhen docks, the Chinese police tracked down the freighter that most likely had transported the explosives into Shenzhen and boarded it after it had departed from the Lau Fau Shan Docks, finding out that the explosives are most likely still located at the docks. After revealing two terrorist infiltrators, Ingram finds out that a freighter carrying more explosives already has departed there, so the MPS calls him back until they have discovered the current status of the freighter.

Three days later Ingram is briefed on his next mission by his supervisor as well as agent Wesley Cutter from UNATCO. Despite Ingram's success at Lau Fau Shan, the documents he found from the offices strongly hinted that some of the explosives have been delivered to the central city itself. Some evidence points out that the Luminous Path Triad might have had something to do with it. Unfortunately, they have also found traces of international crime syndicates which is why UNATCO has taken interest in the situation. However, an ally of them called Yakedo has revealed some clues and might be able to help, which is why Ingram is sent to Kowloon in a low-profile mission to find out what's going on. The details of the mission in Hong Kong are unclear at the time, but after agent Ingram does an errand for the owner of the Forichi club, David Yoon, he is given the identity of an unknown supplier in Vladivostok, Russia.

UNATCO has discovered that the Russians are aware of the supplier but such information is not available to the public, especially not to UNATCO since it has no legal authority over Vladivostok due to RMA not having signed the UNATCO Treaty as well as the fact that RMA is currently involved in a conflict with the United States at Texas, which has also restrained relations with the U.N and Russia. However, one of UNATCO's informants in Russia has succeeded in discovering the location of the supplier and will present this to agent Ingram as he arrives to the city. The main mission would be infiltrating this facility and gaining access to all the information UNATCO needs to bust up the suppliers even without Russian help.

In Vladivostok, agent Ingram meets with the informant who has found out that the explosives are supplied from the former Trifolium Headquarters, which has been acquired by a shipbuilder corporation called Yumashev Industries, however, the informant suspects that the shipbuilders have been bribed by some kind of a business oligarch who earns a good fortune from selling explosives to Hong Kong and elsewhere. He gives Ingram floorplans of the building, with security outposts and other sites of interest marked up. Leading agent Ingram to investigate the headquarters, which are mostly void of human presence from the inside, Ingram discovers a computer system where he has to unlock a secret sequence ultimately revealing an elevator that leads deep underground to a secret base. However, before he gets far, an infolink message from Lana Zavich is suddenly severed and he is ambushed by a group of soldiers in unknown uniforms, shooting him with darts that cause him to lose consciousness immediately as he is hit.

Ingram wakes up from a cell after an undisclosed time has passed, weaponless and none of his augmentations working. He finds a buzzer activating a loudspeaker and an unknown voice starts addressing him, in the end remarking that they're close to a breakthrough. After a different voice informs him that he must be prepared. The door opens, revealing bunch of bodies lying around. Once again the voice addresses Ingram, saying that he has been injected with a neurological poison and he needs to gain access to the cryogen chamber immediately in order to restore his full capacity.

After restoring his full capacity, he discovers that he is actually on-board a special Antonov An-155 (modified version of the An-124) airplane, swarming with unknown paramilitary troops. As he accesses to cryogenic chamber, he receives an infolink from Lana Zavich, who tells him to find a parachute and jump out, him now being over Novosibirsk area. Finding a parachute, Ingram also encounters a civilian mechanic, who can only reveal that the plane is on its way to Berlin and he was hired there as the plane left from Vladivostok, only knowing that he was hired by Yumashev Industries, who also paid him to not ask any extraneous questions ("As usual." - Ingram). After this, Ingram finally parachutes out of the plane.

After he has landed, Zavich contacts him again and tells him to stay low, since Novosibirsk is a battlefield due to various paramilitary groups fighting against each other by all dirty means, and the said groups aren't just going to ignore his sudden landing. Nevertheless, she gives him the location of a secret hideout where she's monitoring his situation. Getting past the paramilitary groups, Ingram enters the hideout - 75 kilometers northwest from Novosibirsk - and finds Zavich, who fill him on what has happened during the two days he has been gone.

First of all, David Yoon had led him onto a trap in Vladivostok. According to Zavich, Yoon is part of a global terrorist group called the Black Widow ("You've got to be kidding me." - Ingram "Well, it's April 1st after all, but I'm afraid this is too real to be a bad joke." - Zavich), and they have desperately tried to get their hands on nanotechnological advancements such as him in the past, so they captured him in order to find out everything they needed to know. However, just a few hours ago an assault was conducted on the MPS headquarters. Almost immediately, fearing that the organization had been breached, the Chinese military suspended MPS's operations and declared martial law in Shenzhen and are in the process of doing the same in Hong Kong, where martial law has been established in districts such as Wan Chai. This has increased Triad attacks against the authorities. The succeeded bombing in Shenzhen and the planned ones in Hong Kong were planned by the Black Widow, and David Yoon is most likely organizing more bombings unless he is stopped.

Zavich had barely survived the assault at MPS HQ when she was visited by the director of UNATCO, Walton Simons, just a few hours ago. Simons stressed that the loss of a nano-augmented agent would be a terrible blow for UNATCO and they have discovered that an Antonov An-155 airplane that has departed from Vladivostok a few hours ago is most likely holding agent Ingram aboard. Due to the strained relations with the Russians, UNATCO can't risk intercepting the plane without invoking an international conflict. She boarded a UNATCO helicopter with two soldiers, then quickly flew to Novosibirsk in order to intercept the Antonov, succeeding in that and giving Ingram orders to jump out. The outpost they currently are is connected to the city via a long underground tunnel.

Next mission for Ingram would be to return to Hong Kong, find and eliminate David Yoon and discover the full extent of his connections to the Black Widow. However, Zavich's helicopter was damaged during their arrival at Novosibirsk and even though the repair bots have finished repairing the chopper, they have no way of leaving until the anti-aircraft batteries located in the city are taken out, which means that Ingram has to get in the middle of street fighting before leaving ("Too bad UNATCO didn't supply us with a stealth copter" - Zavich). In the city, Ingram help either one of the groups in their tasks, and if he helps the one that owns the anti-aircraft batteries, they promise him that they will remain inactive until his copter has left. Alternatively, if he sides with the opposing group, they will storm the warehouse together and then destroy the aircraft batteries. After helping either group, Ingram returns to the forest hideout and leaves with the UNATCO pilot to Hong Kong.

Once again landing on Kowloon, Ingram's first mission objective is to find out clues where Yoon has withdrawn to from the Forichi Club, but he is immediately contacted by Yakedo who requests to meet him at his place. Yakedo tells him that whatever he has heard about David Yoon isn't entirely correct and even Yoon himself acted out of paranoia when he lured him into a trap. Yakedo pleads that Ingram would try to talk reason with Yoon before assassinating him, because the mess they're both in is far more complicated than he may thought. Ingram asks why he should believe him, and Yakedo tells him that evidence about Yoon's true allegiances are located in the secret basement of the club, secured by a keypad. After he has read them, Yakedo asks Ingram to get back to his place. Ingram gets to the Forichi club, now closed due to pending investigation, after he persuades the troops into permitting him in.

In the club he meets the commanding officer, Lien Takara, who recognizes agent Ingram but also knows that the MPS was suspended by the military and his status was declared unknown by the authorities. Ingram assures that he is working for UNATCO and has been assigned to eliminate David Yoon. Takara reveals that David Yoon's assets have been frozen and the club is most likely going to be auctioned (with the Red Arrow Triad being particularly interested in it). Asking if she had found any evidence regarding Yoon's current location, Takara mentions that the hard drives have been taken away and all documents of importance seem to be taken away, but he's free to investigate himself. Ingram heads to the secret basement and finds Yoon's computer, discovering e-mails from Maggie Chow (concerning the stolen nanosword and its schematics), Larry Fay (concerning the Black Widow having discovered his location) as well as Gordon Quick (concerning the transfer of Luminous Path Triad members to the Tianbao Hotel). After doing this, Ingram goes back to Yakedo's place.

Back at Yakedo's place, Ingram confesses to Yakedo that UNATCO might be wrong about Yoon after all. Yakedo remarks that he got there just in time, since David Yoon has just been put under a warrant and the police are busy trying to figure out his current location, and the police don't need to take him alive so the chances are high for Yoon to be eliminated. Ingram still wants to know what's the real deal with Black Widow and him, Yakedo assuring there will be a time for that if they succeed in keeping Yoon alive. Then he asks Ingram if he found any clues about Yoon's current location, Ingram informing about the email from Gordon Quick. Yakedo knows that you can get to Tianbao by the canals and he has a boat they can use. Leaving Kowloon, they soon arrive at Wan Chai ("Just in time before the gates got closed." - Yakedo) to one of Yakedo's properties there. Yakedo tells he's gonna stay there and monitor the situation while he goes to meet Yoon.

Ingram reaches the Tianbao Hotel and discovers that he has hired the Luminous Path to protect him and shoot any intruders on sight. Finally reaching the dining room where Yoon is located, Yoon is first surprised that Ingram is standing in front of him but after hearing what he has to say about the Black Widow, Yoon decides that it is up to Ingram hear his side of the story.

Yoon starts with the past when he was an employee of the S/P Enterprises, moving on to the story of his son, Ethan Yoon, how he was incapacitated, and how he got in contact with the CEO of XVA Communications, Alexia Novikov, a former ally of the Black Widow, who was also suspicious of the Black Widow's true intents. Novikov took Ethan into her facilities and gave Yoon the important job of monitoring Black Widow activities in Hong Kong, promising that they would eventually restore Ethan's health. This culminated with the arrival of Mad Ingram into Hong Kong, which made Novikov promise Yoon that by discovering the secrets of agent Ingram's augmentations they would be able to contribute in healing Ethan, which is why Yoon led Ingram into a trap in Vladivostok where XVA's private militia captured him and were transporting him to Berlin where a scientist called Elias Nadel was supposed to help XVA in unlocking his augmentations.

Ingram reminds Yoon that it still doesn't explain why UNATCO had assured him that Yoon was behind the Shenzhen bombing as well as the planned attacks in Hong Kong and why they had ordered Yoon's assassination, Yoon finally revealing to him about Majestic 12 ("This is just unbelivable." - Ingram) and how UNATCO as well as the Chinese police are under their control, with Hong Kong being mostly free or under Black Widow's influence. For decades the Black Widow has fought against MJ12's influence and has given substantial support for various terrorist factions, but the Black Widow is more interested in taking MJ12's assets into their control than let the world become free again. He assures that XVA is definitely the key into liberating the world again, since they removed Ingram's killswitch right before he was taken enroute to Berlin. Asking what's going to happen next, Yoon tells that he's waiting for one of Novikov's helicopters to pick him up and take to Vladivostok where they're going to unleash the next part of their plan. He offers Ingram to come with him, assuring that he is in grave danger with MJ12 still in power and the Black Widow trying to seduce him.
