Version 4.1

The Nameless Mod

Cherubic/7H clearance and above only!

"The world of the forum boards is in chaos, it's citizenry divided between 3 major factions. Crime is at an alltime high, people are disappearing and rumors of strange things are abound.

WorldCorp Inc., owned by the eccentric billionaire Scara B. King seeks to gain control of the entire corporate world and will use any means necessary to achieve its' goals. Whether it be corporate espionage, blackmail or murder, Scara will stop at nothing. Some call the tycoon mad, but as he points out, It is a fine line between genius and insanity.

The Llama religious fanatics seek not corporate power but power over peoples minds. The high priests of this bizarre Llama worshipping religion have recruited millions, and thousands more join each day. At the very top of their hierarchy is the one they call The Leader, shrouded in mystery he controls everything in their religion. Citizens who join become virtual slaves of the high priests, turning over everything they own to The Leader. They must quit their jobs and work at the Llama temples, deep underground. It has even been whispered that The Leader will one day take them in his UFO to the planet of the Llamas where they will have utter bliss.

The third power in this strange and twisted world is the Goat worshippers, also a religion, its origins are shrouded in mystery. No one knows who leads this cult; only a select few are permitted to join. And if chosen they are must leave their homes and journey to the mysterious Goat city. Noone knows where the city is, many have tried to locate it, but the Goat followers exact a deadly revenge on anyone attempting to find it. It has been rumoured that this cult is responsible for the disappearing citizenry, but no one know what they may do with their kidnapped victims.

In the middle of all this, two clans fight for domination of the media world: PDX and DXO. It seems they will stop at nothing to achieve this goal. DXO are already infiltrating the PDX OTF, and who know when it'll escalate into a full fledged war? But nothing is as it seems, and there is a reason for everything.

This is a world in which nobody can feel safe, and where only three people can keep law and order. One has been kidnapped, the other can only act in cooperation with the first, and the third... is too busy. The kidnapped moderator must be found at any cost. It is time to take action. It is time to call in a few favours. It is time to open up MS Outlook and pray that it's not in the mood for crashing so you can send out a desperate cry for help.

Who kidnapped the moderator of the OTF? What is Scara B. King up to, and what means will he use to achieve it? Where does Aunt Betty Skins come into it? Why does DXO have this bitter hatred towards PDX? And - perhaps most importantly, perhaps of no importance at all - who are pulling the strings from the background? Will you find out in time? How many people will you have to dispose of first? When will I stop asking all these pointless questions?

You'll just have to wait and see...

Mission 20 and 22

Mission 21 Mission 23 Mission 24

Legend:

Augmentations
Unique Weapons
Ingame Text Examples (e-mails, datacubes, etc.)

THE BEGINNING:

Starting inventory:

Key to Phas' apartment
Key to a locker in Raving's Weapon Shop

The weapon shop key opens a locker containing the following:
A combat knife
A candy bar
2 bioelectric cells
Trestkon's Pistols

2 boxes of ammo for the pistols
An EMP grenade
A couple of PDX newspaper clippings with some info on Trestkon's past, such as why he left the forums back in the days

Phasmatis' Apartment

You start in Trestkon's old friend Phasmatis' apartment building. Phas directs you to his apartment where he tells you that Deus Diablo, another moderator of the OTF, has been kidnapped. Phas thinks you should start by going to Raving's and pick up your old guns. Then, you might want to go check out the main suspect, WorldCorp Inc, or go talk to King Kashue in the PDX HQ, who'll be able to help you out. You should also go to Sols' bar, which is just down the street, because it's a good place to pick up different pieces of info. Phas also gives you the Run Silent/Speed Enhancement aug, and tells you that the Login/Password for his computer is Phasmatis / Antithieus. He he's got this mail:

From: Unknown
To: Phasmatis
Subject: The Moderator
We have kidnapped your forum moderator, because we need him for something very important. Sorry for the inconvenience, we hope you understand.

Once you leave Phasmatis' apartment, Scara B. King will PM you. He will present himself and welcome the player back to the forums. Trestkon has met Scara long ago, when WC was still an small, idealistic aug lab with Jonas employed. Scara will invite Trestkon to come visit him in the WC HQ.

Immediately afterwards, you will recieve another PM from King Kashue, who noticed that Scara just PM'ed you, and wants you to know that whatever Scara said, he is NOT to be trusted. KK then quickly introduces himself and asks Trestkon to come visit him at PDX HQ for a longer introduction and a more thorough briefing on the politics of the forums.

MAP DESCRIPTIONS AND SECONDARY MISSIONS:

Raving's Weapon Shop

Just an ordinary weapon shop where you can buy any of the original DX weapons. They should be cheap enough for the player to afford a few, but expensive enough for the player not to be able to buy them all. There's also ammo for all weapons for sale. Luminous Path is the assistant shopkeeper, standing behind the desk while Raving is sitting by a computer in his office. Luminous has a (not quite legal) napalm gun for sale.

SIDEQUEST: Black Ice
Raving Nutter will tell you about WorldCorp's security system, Black Ice. Apparently, he and Luminous has done some unauthorized intelligence operations with Evil Invasion and Jonas from PDX. Jonas made all of Luminous' augmentations and Evil Invasion made a cut down version of Black Ice (which he also programmed long ago) for Luminous, so he could hack into WorldCorp and see what Scara was up to. All he found before getting busted, however, was the security password: Seraphic686. If the player then talks to EvilInvasion in the PDX HQ, he will ask the player to do him a huge favour: Destroy Black Ice. It's been used for terrible things that it was never meant for, and he wants Trestkon to undo the mistake he made by creating it, by uploading a very effective virus to the mainframe. Trestkon will have to get past That Guy, who was his partner in making Black Ice, and who still works for WorldCorp. Evil would definitely prefer if the player could get past That Guy without killing him, as he's basically a nice guy, although he's pretty messed up. When Trestkon returns after uploading the virus, Evil will give him a couple of energy cells and a Combat Strength/Microfibral Muscle aug made by Jonas.

Sols Bar
At sols bar you will meet several other members of the OTF, who will tell you various things about the different factions. Perhaps we can put lots of funny stuff in here. Secret rooms, whatever else you can think of. Kunio Kun has two aug upgrades and a Combat Strength/Microfibral Muscle aug for sale. Expensively! You will also meet Kylie, who will only comment on how there are way too many talking disembodied heads around these days, if the player isn't yet allied to Scara. You won't know that she works for WorldCorp yet. Alpha Operator owns the bar, and Jackie is the bouncer.

SIDEQUEST: Gundam the Bum
Kunio also tells you that a bum called Gundam is living in an alley behind Sols'. He is in possession of a floppy disc with some valuable, and not quite legal, data on it. If you can get that for Kunio, he'll give you a nice discount on all of his merchandise. Gundam is a former biotech researcher for WorldCorp, and tells the player about how he was tortured by WC and disfigured by their hideous experiments, but he refuses to give you the drugs, so you have to kill him to get them.

O'Mally's Pub
O'Mally's Pub is a small and dirty place where the lower ranking employees of the companies of the Corporate section hang out to lament their misery, or meet up for a drink after work. This is a good place to pick up a few rumours on WorldCorp and the cults.

SIDEQUEST: Hopeful Young Artist
In O'Mally's, you meet jimmycracker, who's a young artist looking for a place to exhibit his work. When he mentions Kun's Gallery, you can tell him that you know Kunio Kun (if you do, that is) and he'll beg you to ask Kunio to let him put some of his art up in the Gallery. If you talk to Kunio about it, he'll say no at first since his Gallery is only for Chibis, but if you're willing to bribe him with 500 credits, he'll finally accept. When you return to jimmy to tell him about it, he'll be thrilled and you'll get a lot of skillpoints. No money, though.

The Voodoo Shop
The voodoo shop is a small dusty shop in the slum sector of Forum City. The keeper of the shop is Yardbomb, who is rather indifferent to the whole voodoo thing. He's so used to it that he talks about it as if he was just selling souvenirs. He's looking after the shop for his old grandmother, who is a little old hag who bosses him around all the time. When you first enter the shop, you'll overhear a conversation between Yardbomb and a representative from WC, who is trying to convince Yardbomb to tell his shop to WC. The player can then influence this choice in whichever direction he chooses. Digital Ronin's katana is also on display in the shop. Next to it is a book with his last proclamation. The sword can be bought for 2000 credits (Digital Ronin was a very legendary man).

The Llama Temple
The Llama temple is at the edge of the city. When you first enter it, Abom is seen slaughtering a Board Guest who happens to have entered the Llama temple perimeter by mistake. He'll question you about what you want, and you must choose what to say to convince him to let you in. There are three options, if you choose wrong, he attacks you. If you've killed Silver Dragon, he'll attack you on sight. The Llamas are going out of their way to convince you that they didn't kidnap DD. One of the Llama guys gives you a sniper rifle to help you on your way if you've saved SD. Inside some statue or behind a painting or in some other secret place, there is a Cloak/Radar Transparency aug. But there is no medbot in the temple.

Beefman is sitting in his throne in the middle of the huge throne room. He talks to you about how evil the Goats are and that they most certainly kidnapped DD. When you ask why the two cults are so mad at each other, he thinks about it for a second and replies: "Uhm… no time to answer such questions. You must go find the Goat city. Quick!" If you talk to him again, he'll say "Come on! GO!" and if you talk to him a third time he'll say "What are you doing still here? Here, take this and now go away!" and he gives you a Synthetic Heart/Power Recirculator aug.

SIDEQUEST: Find the Goats/Get the Plans
If you've saved SD and talked with Beefman, Abomination will offer you to join the Llamas if you do them a small favour: You must find out how to enter the Goat City, which is no small job according to him. If you do so, he'll give you 2000 credits, and he may have more missions for you later on, worth more rewards. As soon as you exit the Llama temple, Dark Templar will send you a PM, asking you to meet him in the Voodoo shop in the slums. Here, he will ask you to get him the plans to the special armor being developed by the Llamas. In return, he will tell you how to enter the Goat City, where you can join their order and gain access to endless fountains of Melk™.

Having met DT in Sol's, you may choose to tell Abomination what DT wants you to do, or you may choose to break into Abom's room and steal the plans, which are on a datacube in a locked safe. If you tell Abom about DT's mission, he will give you a set of fake plans to take to DT so you can find out where the Goat City is and tell the Llamas about it. Regardless, DT will accept the plans and tell you how to enter the Goat City. You may then tell Abom about it, or merely enter the Goat City and hear what DT has to offer. However, if you enter the Goat City after having given DT the false plans, everyone will be hostile.

Later on (after going to the server complex), a new sidequest will be available depending on which cult you're allied to:

SIDEQUEST: Drain the Melk™/Blow The Llama
If you've joined the Llamas, Abom will tell you that Beefman has a new mission for you. Beefman tells you that the Goats have a couple of fountains with a magical and holy substance called Melk™. This Melk™ apparently works as a sort of stimulant, which enhances the Goat members' combat abilities. He wants you to enter the Goat City, find the Goat Fountain drains, turn off the fountains and destroy the controls. When you return from your mission, you will be rewarded with a Vision Enhancement/Targeting aug or an Aqualung/Environmental Resistance aug (your choice), and an upgrade.

If you've joined the Goats, Dark Templar also has a mission for you: You must destroy the symbol of the glory of the Llamas, their golden Llama statue. To do this, you will first need to take out the security system protecting it (by hacking their computers or finding their password in Abom's quarters), and then you must place a LAM's on the statue and blow it up. When you return after doing this, DT will give you the same reward that you'd have got from the Llamas.

Lastly, one last sidequest will become available when you return from the DXI ruins:

SIDEQUEST: Kill the Leader
If you're a Llama, Beefman will once again summon you to give you a new mission. He wants you to enter the very Templae™ of the Goats, where you must find out who their leader is and kill him. You enter the Templae™ itself, and find out that Athena is the leader of their cult. When you return to Beefman after killing her, he will reward you with 1000 credits, an augmentation upgrade and a couple of weapon mods.

If you're a Goat worshipper, Athena herself calls you to her quarters, where she gives you the mission to kill Beefman. Of course you can't just wander right into his hall, seeing as you're now a Goat, but if you manage to kill him and return to Athena alive, she'll award you with 1000 credits, an aug upgrade and a couple of weapon mods.

The Goat City
To reach the Goat City, you must find a very overlookable alley in the map, in which a part of the floor is movable. Below this hatch is a small button, and when it is pressed, a second wall glides out of the wall beside you, and covers the wall directly in front of you. This new wall can be climbed, and when you reach the other side of it, you can follow the alley around a corner, and there, you see a magnificent place: lots of trees and beautiful lights. And a temple in the middle. Here, Dark Templar, OiNutter and the rest of the Goats are going out of their way to convince you that the Llamas kidnapped DD. Oi offers you to join the Goat, in which case you'll receive 3000 credits. On the other hand, the Llamas will attack you mercilessly the next time they see you. You cannot join the Goat if you're already working for Scara.

The PDX Clan
The PDX clan has its HQ in a large building containing several different facilities. Besides the administration ward where the offices of KK, DD, Phas and Despot can be found, a newspaper department also exists, where the newspaper of the clan is written and published. The newspaper department is where you'll find the offices of Slicer, EvilInvasion Winquman and Ghandaiah. There's also Jonas' labs where he develops his augmentations, and some facilities where the random clan members can relax or practice their fighting. The leader of the PDX clan, the ph34rful Despot, appears only on your infolink as a fuzzy image when you enter the building and says: "Welcome to PDX. I'm sorry, I'm quite buzy at the moment. Talk to Ghand, he runs the show while I'm away… oh God, what am I saying!?" Ghandaiah, who is his second in command, will share some insane babbling with you and give you The Golden Spork of Righteousness™. In Ghands' office hangs three pics: one of himself with foam about the mouth (see GG15), the one of Gwog floating in that lake, and one of Pete the Pigeon (see GG16).

Jonas has the Combat Strength/Microfibral Muscle aug and one upgrade for you, and Winquman has a couple of guns and modifications for you to help you on the way. You'll only get all of this if you're allied to PDX, of course. On Winquman's desk is a data cube that contains the following (with the typos): NOTE: Remember that someone changed my password and login to Lund_stinks. I'm not sure who did that. Usually, my password is a big secrit. I doupt it's someone outside of PDX though, that would make it very hard to hack into my account. It's probably just a misstake.

In the middle of the conversation with Winq, he'll say something like What the hell is that? That is not a healthy rat! and a blue rat comes running into view. Winquman shoots it, and it turns into the dead body of Nice_But_Dim from DXO, who's been spying on the PDX.

Evil_Invasion is able to provide the security login for WorldCorp: WCSecLogin. In a locked drawer in Despot's office (which can only be opened with a key you get from Scara) is a data cube with the following message:

We changed your password from Die_Ghand to GS_Rulez, because we were bored. Your login is still Despot.
- Silverdawn

SIDEQUEST: WC Jailbreak
After the DXI mission, KK tells you that Evil would like to speak with you. Evil Invasion tells you that Slicer, his reporter collegue, recently went to WorldCorp to meet an employee for an interview. Since then, he hasn't been heard from. Evil tells you that floorplans for a secret level beneath WorldCorp have been found in the files you downloaded a couple of days ago. The floorplans show a couple of prison cells, and Evil wants you to find out how to enter the secret level, and find Slicer (who is assumed to be held there). Then, he wants you to get Slicer out of there. You locate the entrance to the sublevel and blast your way through the blocked entrance, and then you find Slicer who's being held at maximum security and open his cell. He will take a weapon from the guard and make his way out of the sublevel on his own. You are then free to explore the rest of the secret complex. When you return to PDX, Slicer will thank you again and him and evil will give you some money and an aug upgrade. You'll also get a bunch of skill points.

Despot's Apartment
When you log into the computer in Despot's office (it's unhackable), the following options are available:
Delete all hosting@planetdeusex.com e-mail
Open apartment door
Kick random #planetdeus idler

The second option opens a door behind a bookshelf. The shelf conceals a staircase that leads to Despot's apartment. The apartment is pure luxury compared to how the common PDX members live, and all the doors of the apartments are huge (because he's a monstrous karkian). The apartment is also filled with toxic gas, but it also contains some weapons, some ammo, some weapon mods, an aug upgrade and the Aqualung/Environmental Resistance aug in a glass container that has a keypad with 30% strength and the code 16 4 24 (P D X). The code can also be found in Despots journal, which says the following:

15/1 - 2002. Today, I've been idling in #planetdeus for a few hours. Then I deleted a mail about DX3 some idiot had sent me. I also found a few applies for hosting@planetdeusex.com, but they were sent before Christmas, so I figured they weren't interested anymore, and deleted them. They probably don't even remember sending them.

Jonas was all over the place with his "brilliant invention that'll change you forever". I didn't want the thing, so I just deposited it in the container. The code is 16 4 24. Maybe I can sell it to Ghand or something.

The journal is in a cabinet with a lock strength of 20%. Despot will also be found in his apartment.

WorldCorp
At WorldCorp, the bathrooms are graffitied with stuff like "Llamas ()wn J()()" and "The Llamas roxorz!" WC security have the culprit pinned in the parking lot in the basement, but he's resisted all their attempts to apprehend him. Somewhere in a laboratory in the Electronics Research and Development labs on the 3rd floor of WC, a laser gun is hidden. It should be hard to get though.

SIDEQUEST: Find Zero
After the DXI mission, Scara tells you that one of his best and most trusted agents, ZeroPresence, hasn't reported in in three days. Apparently, right after his last case was closed, he went missing and hasn't been heard from since. Scara suggests Kylie may know something, about him, but she's not exactly being cooperative for some reason. Scara wants you to find ZeroPresence because he's way too valuable to lose permanently. If you speak to Kylie, she tells you where to find ZP's apartment. She won't say why she knows its location, however. In the apartment, you'll find your own closed case (it was closed when you got the firestaff), and a photo of what appears to be a secret entrance to the Goat City. When you use this secret entrance, you reach a balchony high above the city itself. Here, you meet ZP who is waiting there with a sniper rifle. He explains to you that he took a few days off to go hunting on his own: For some reason he's not too eager to share, he wants to assassinate Dark Templar, but unfortunately DT hasn't left the Goat Templae™ ever since ZP got there. ZP wants you to go down to the city (you can climb down the side of the building) and push a specific alarm button to lure DT out. When you activate the alarm, everyone comes running, and will attack you if you don't hide fast enough. DT takes a shot in the head and dies, and most of the goats run inside again, whereas a few guards start looking for you. You must then make your way back to ZP without being murdered by the goats. ZP will give you an aug upgrade as thanks and leave. You'll also get a bunch of skillpoints. Scara will give you a bonus.

SIDEQUEST: Delivery boy
In the Biotech Research labs, you will bump into DP, who mistakes you for an errand boy and gives you a Synthetic Heart/Power Recirculator aug with orders to take it down to Development. You may either take it to the Development section of the labs for a reward of 350 skillpoints and a tip of 50 credits, or keep it to yourself (the smart choice).

The DXO Clan
The DXO clan is hard to find, but this can be done in two ways:

1. If PDX visited is set, at some point a strange voice called Narcissus will appear on your infolink, and tell you to go to the alley behind Sols'. It's pretty hard to get there, 'cause the only way around the fence that closes it off it through a door in the cooling room of Sol's, but it's locked. You'll have to enter the apartment of Tre, who doesn't mind you jumping out his window and onto the fire ladder outside, and even offers you a cup of tea on the way or something like that. Then you may crawl down to the alley. The voice will then instruct you to push a brick hidden behind some trashcans. The brick is just an ordinary brick, which is highlighted as 'Unlocked' when the player looks at it. When the brick is pushed, a piece of the wall slides aside, and a holo-thingy appears. On the holo is a recording of Deus Diablo. He tells you that he can help you find the DXO, but you must hear what they have to say and not just blast away. They have a reason for doing what they do. He also tells you that he's hidden his fire staff in the ruins of Deus Ex Incarnate beneath PlanetDeusEx.

2. If AlliedScara is set and you talk to Kylie, she will give you the directions to the DXO. They'll both tell you the code.

How to get to the DXO: Inside a crate in Sols' cooling room is a keypad (the crate must be mapped, not placed as an actor). The code is 20 18 13 (T R M) and the keypad moves a shelf. Under the shelf is a staircase down to the sewers in which the DXO clan reside. The DXO clan leader is TheRenegadeMaster. On the bottom of a trashcan in his office is a data cube with the text:

NOTE TO SELF:
Remember new account name:
Login: TRM
Password: Gobbledygook

NOTE TO SELF:
Find new password. FAST!

With this password, you can enter the DXO security systems and disable them. Just in case you agree to help someone later, who want them killed.

TheRenegadeMaster tells you that they haven't kidnapped DD, but they think they know who: The DXO clan has proof that PDX is under the control of an ancient and very powerful organization known as Gamespy. The proof is a recording of a transmission between Despot and someone called Silverdawn. The recording can be found in a safe behind a painting in TRMs' office. TRM gives the player the key to the safe, so he can go see for himself. In the safe is indeed a cube with this message:

[RECORDING BEGINS]
Unknown voice: Despot, you there?
Despot: Silverdawn? Yeah, what is it?
Unknown voice: Just wanted to tell you that you're doing a fine job being unavailable all the time.
Despot: Thanks. That's all you wanted?
Unknown voice: Yep. Bye.
Despot: Listen--
*Click*
[RECORDING ENDS]

Illuminati-IIS has some weapon mods and some ammo for you. And maybe a new weapon too. Nice_But_Dims' chair is empty, but on his desk lies a picture of a rat, and a data cube with the words: Project update: I think I got the mesh itself to look pretty realistic, but the skin is kinda off-color. I should get someone to help me with that. I'll go test it tonight though. I heard something is going down at PDX. Wouldn't wanna miss it!

If you joined Scara and got the mission with asking DXO for an alliance, they won't give you anything, but say no thanks to the offer, they aren't interested.

Ruins of Deus Ex Incarnate
These are the ruins of a huge city. It was on the ruins of this city that Planet Deus Ex was created. In the middle of the cave in which this city lies is a large half-destroyed admin building. From the large lobby, in which a silent fountain also resides, an elevator will take you to a high-tech room where most of a wall is missing. This room is filled to the brim with lasers and cameras and automatic machineguns, but in the center of the room is a show-case with Deus Diablos fire staff in it. Somewhere in DXI, a Vision Enhancement/Targeting aug should also be found (and it should be relatively easy to do so).

SIDEQUEST: Bugging
If you're allied to PDX, or just managed to get the DXO news script without killing TRM or Pimp Jojo, you will be met by Pimp Jojo, who has an offer for you. Since you're entering the DXI anyway, the DXO clan has a little job they'd like you to do. He wants you to sneak into a small server complex and place a little black box he gives you under one of the old servers. Apparently, the server is still connected to the PDX network, and through the black box, the DXO will be able to spy on the PDX clan. If you work for PDX, you can either accept the mission, or tell the PDX'ers about it (or actually carry it out and tell them about it afterwards, although KK will be rather suspicious when you won't hand over the box, and send Winquman down to check on the server). If you work for Scara, he won't mind you carrying out this small mission for them. When you return from DXI, Jojo will give you the choice between a Ballistic Protection/EMP Shield aug, a Synthetic Heart/Power Recirculator aug and a Aqualung/Environmental Resistance aug. He also gives you 1000 credits.

Aunt Betty Industries
ABI is a factory in a mountain range close to Forum City, with a huge neon sign saying "Aunt Betty Industries - the best skins for any purpose". The only way to get there is to fly with a helicopter in the slums district. It appears to be a common clothes factory, but beneath it lies a secret research facility. ABI consists of a reception with a huge panorama window looking out of the side of the mountain, a couple of storage halls and some factory halls with the skinners' workstations. One of the factories has been closed off (for maintenance), but in actual fact it's being used as a prison for the best of the skinners, Hao Niu-rou, who wanted to quit his job, and is being forced to work. Oddly, there are no WorldCorp employees found here, which is because the ABI people revolted against WC's despotic management. This part of the complex has been cleaned up, but the secret facility is an entirely different manner.

SIDEQUEST: Free Hao
Regardless of who you're allied to, you may meet Hao Niu-rou, who's an employee of ABI, but doesn't really like working there. Betty has imprisoned him because he's the best skinner in the factory, and can't really be expended. If you help him past the various security systems, he'll give you the Aggressive Defense System/Spy Drone aug.

ABI Secret Research Facility
The entrance to the secret facility is in an old church-like room which is left from the old castle which used to lie here. Now it's being used for storage, but behind a bunch of crates is a hidden door to the secret facilities. These are a series of Vandenburg-like laboratories testing and developing weapons technology (such as the gibinator, which is found in a display case in one of the labs), robotics and space technology. In the core of the complex, a hangar with a space shuttle is found. Next to the hangar is a launch room with closeable blast doors and a control room where Ryan himself is found protected by his hitmen. To use the shuttle, as per your mission, you must first tow it into the launch room, close the blast doors, enter the control room where you'll meet Ryan, kill him or let him live (determined by your choices in his conversation), open the roof and then frob the shuttle. You will then leave the facility and go to the HTTP GameSpy space station.

The labs themselves are very advanced, but currently raged by a small war between ABI's security people and their robots and WC's security people who were stationed there to keep the ABI employees under control and oversee the production of the shuttle. Therefore, corpses of dead security people from both sides, disabled ABI security robots and blown up structures should be found every now and then. A few of the labs have had the luxury of blast doors to protect them from the battle, but the research itself is sort of dormant at the moment. A lot of security measures are still active, however, and even more of them can be activated to be on your side if you're a reasonably good hacker. Both sides will shoot at you if they see you, but only after disposing of their more urgent enemies.

PDX MISSIONS:

King Kashue briefs you on the situation, which is this: The DXO clan hates the PDX clan, and wants to destroy them and take over their forum. If you try to ask him why this is so, KK only answers evasively. Although DXO is definitely on the list of suspects, KK is more likely to suspect WorldCorp of abducting DD. If you haven't visited WC yet, KK will tell you about the SD situation, and ask you to go to WorldCorp HQ and help SD escape. If you've already saved SD, KK tells you to start your investigation by returning to WC and hacking their system. KK would like you to download all data in Scara's personal account to a CD and take it back to PDX HQ so Evil Invasion can decrypt it. He hopes that the files will contain some clue to what Scara is up to.

You enter WC in whichever way you choose (remember that because of your helping SD escape, WC security will do anything they can to stop you), and hack their system. Then you download Scara's personal folders to a floppy disk and bring it to PDX. Evil manages to decrypt some of it right away, and finds out that Scara is planning to steal the firestaff. He also finds a lot of personal info on Trestkon, adressed to someone called Zero Presence. PDX cannot let Scara get his yellow hands on the staff, given that it holds True Admin Power (ph34r!), so they'll need Trestkon to acquire the staff before Scara's people. However, they have a problem. The AI that Scara sent into the main server complex to retrieve Despot's admin password a while ago was corrupted by an attack from the Narcissus Entity, and has fled to an unused part of the server complex. Here, it has actually managed to block off all access to the DXI excavation, though nobody knew that the old complex could actually still be used to control certain aspects of the Forum City (namely, older stuff such as the DXI link).

Trestkon enters the old complex and moves Shadowcode to an isolated system where he can do no harm. Then the entrance to DXI is open, and Trestkon can go claim the firestaff. Somewhere in DXI, however, Trestkon will be ambushed by Zero Presence: An assassin who Scara hired to eliminate Trestkon. After a difficult fight with the sneaky sniperrifle-equipped Zero Presence, Trestkon defeats him and can move on to claim his price: The firestaff.

With the powerful staff safely in hand, Trestkon returns to PDX, where Evil Invasion has managed to decrypt the rest of Scara's files. He can tell the player all about ZP being hired to kill Trestkon, but more importantly: They've found out that Scara knows about GameSpy. About WHAT!? The player asks. Then, KK has to explain all about the secretive GameSpy organization, who have apparently kidnapped DD. PDX has learnt that Scara has sent his most trusted employee, one of the most feared and respected members of the forums, Kylie, to the space station, where she's meant to assassinate Deus Diablo.

PDX needs Trestkon to go to the space station and free DD. But unfortunately, the helicopter flown by the pilot Critikal Error, which is the only way to reach ABI, has recently been the subject of an attack by the DXO clan, and Critikal Error has been kidnapped along with the keys to his chopper. PDX - and especially KK and Phas - would like this to be settled in a civil way, and thus, they want an alliance to be forged between the two clans. And since Trestkon is as neutral as they get, he is ideal to negotiate this alliance. First, however, he'll have to find the DXO hideout. KK advices you to pay the crime scene a visit by going to the helipad, where you can question some bums who happen to witness the attack, and know where the DXO'ers went. They direct you to Sol's Bar and Grille. In Sol's, you may ask around for the DXO'ers, but nobody saw anything. However, Jackie believes she heard a lot of people run into the alley behind the bar, where Gundam lives. She also thinks there's an unusual amount of traffic in and out of that alley. If you go there, however, you'll find the alley blocked by a fence. The only way to enter is to go to Tre's apartment in the building next to the bar, and climb through the window and down the fire escape into the alley. Here, you'll find an old storage house used by Sol's, where a keypad which opens the entrance to DXO, will be hidden in a hollow crate.

You find TRM and talk to him, and he explains to you why he's against the PDX clan: Because he knows they're allied to the GameSpy organizations, who controls the boards like Big Brother. He will only accept the alliance if Despot agrees to help him free the boards of the control of GameSpy. After some convincing by you, KK and Phas, Despot agrees that it's time to free the PDX boards of GameSpy influence. TRM is thrilled, and immediately opens Critikal's cell. He thanks you and goes back to his chopper, where you can meet him and travel with him to ABI.

For a long time, ABI has been controlled by WorldCorp, because Scara has bought most of the stocks. Recently, Aunt Betty had enough of it and together with his employees he took back the control of his factory from the WC guys. He's known about the space station for a long time, and has been planning to destroy the space station and let anarchy rule the forums. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't leave the atmosphere without the Fire Staff, which he didn't have. Somewhere, you'll meet Aunt Betty and his hitmen, who'll ask you to ally yourself with them in stead. Just get to the space station and he'll tell you all about it. You can either let Aunt Betty live, keeping the Betty ending open to yourself, or kill him if you choose to. If you let him live, Endar (who created the shuttle) will let you take it, but if you kill Betty you'll have to kill Endar too.

When you arrive in the station, Phas asks you to hack the system and upload the station's schematics to PDX. Phas quickly looks them over and finds out where DD is kept. He then tells you to go find DD and get him to the docking bay while KK and TRM study the schematics. You find DD and help him reach the shuttle bay (he can defend himself with his flaming sword, but you watch his back in the mean time). When you get DD to safety, KK tells you that they've taken a look at the schematics, and determined that in order to get control of the space station, the best approach would be to find the AI called Narcissus and upload it to your brain. That will give you control of the station, freeing ForumPlanet from the clutches of the GameSpy aliens.

WORLDCORP MISSIONS:

If you haven't already visited PDX, Scara will be pleased that you chose to see him first. He tells you to come right up to his office on the fourth floor. Here, he tells you that he knows precisely where DD is, but before he'll tell you anything, you must prove your loyalty by going to the basement and killing the Llama worshipper who graffittied the bathrooms.

In the basement, you'll find Silver Dragon, who was trapped in there when trying to escape the building after making the graffiti. KK sends you a PM telling you to help SD escape because death is too heavy a penalty for graffitti even though WC has the right to apply deadly force to any intruder. If you help him escape, he'll be very grateful, and KK will tell you to come see him in the PDX HQ, whereas Scara will be really pissed and tell you in a PM never to show your face in WC HQ again. If you ignore his threats and return, the security systems and people will be hostile. However, if you kill SD (which won't be easy, given that he's a dragon), you have proved that you're trustworthy, and Scara offers you a job. You'll basically have to accept, given that PDX certainly doesn't want to have anything to do with you. When you've signed a crapload of papers, Scara will give you the key to a secret compartment in his fireplace, where you find a Combat Strength/Microfibral Muscle aug.

Scara will tell him that he knows exactly where DD is, and that he will need DD assassinated. This is because DD has somehow picked up a few clues to the fact that Scara's operations in Forum City may not be entirely legal (Scara doesn't extrapolate, but he's talking about illegal experiments on forum members - such as Gundam - besides the more boring illegal takeovers and completely ignoring all laws against monopoly). Before Scara will tell you anything about where to find DD, he tells you that he's recieved intelligence about a very powerful artifact called Fire Staff, which must of course have been created to make the termination of employees a much easier and even more enjoyable job. Scara wants you to retrieve this staff, but first, you'll need the correct admin passwords to enter the closed-down DXI excavations and retrieve the staff.

To do this, Scara wants you to find the DXO HQ and steal their news script, so you can trade it with Despot for the admin password. This can be done either by actually murdering all of them 'manually', or by equipping a rebreather (or Hazmat suit or whatever protects you from gas), and sneak in to blow up some gas barrels found in their hideout. The key to the room with DXO's news servers is found on TRM's dead body if you choose to kill them all. Alternately, you should be able to get in there undetected (keeping the Bugging sidequest open to yourself), but it should be just as difficult as fighting. Then, you're told to find Despot's apartment (Scara gives you the key to Despot's desk, which he got from a PDX member who spies for them), where Despot turns down your offer (although he drools all over the script). Then Scara gets REALLY MAD, and in a fit of rage orders you to kill Phasmatis.

When you get to Phasmatis' apartment, and tries to kill him, Phas "deletes" your weapons (ie. Removes them from your inventory). Only when you leave his apartment, you get them back, and the door to the apartment is locked. Scara has calmed down a little in the mean time, and tells the player that the last option is to break into the main server complex of PDX and steal Despot's admin password so he can enter DXI. Scara also mentions that a very important prisoner has somehow escaped from the basement levels. Slicer, a journalist from PDX, was captured when he was going to interview a trecherous employee of WC who has later been... terminated. Scara doesn't know how Slicer escaped, but he's the best field reporter of the PDX, and knows how to defend himself. Also, he's managed to gather that Scara plans to send someone to DXI, so PDX will doubtlessly send someone to retrieve the Fire Staff shortly, it will very likely be Slicer.

The player goes to the server complex, which is guarded by sentient security programs called Firewalls, lead by Man In Black. You'll have to kill MIB to download the password. When the password is yours, you're sent on to DXI to get a hold of the staff. In DXI, you meet Slicer, who has been sent by PDX to retrieve the staff before you. When Slicer is defeated and you find the staff, you return to Scara whose eyes light up with joy. Then Scara tells you all about the HTTP GameSpy, and how the aliens kidnapped DD for some reason. He also tells you that the reason why the Fire Staff was needed was because it can be used to open up a series of ancient security measures which ensures that nobody can ever leave the atmosphere of ForumPlanet (and thus, that GameSpy gets no unwanted company). He then sends you to ABI to take care of the Aunt Betty insurrection, and use the shuttle to reach the space station.

As with the PDX ending, you'll meet Aunt Betty somewhere, who'll ask you to ally yourself with him. Just get to the space station and he'll tell you all about it. You can either let him live, keeping the Betty ending open to yourself, or show true loyalty to Scara and kill Betty and his fellow traitors. If you let him live, Endar (who created the shuttle) will let you take it, but if you kill Betty you'll have to kill Endar too.

When you get to the space station, Scara will be ecstatic. He will order you to assassinate Deus Diablo so he won't reclaim his Fire Staff. As soon as you've killed DD, Scara orders you to upload the station's stats and schematics to WC's system. When you've done this (by simply hacking the first computer you come across), Scara will realize just how much power the station has, and tell you to take control of the ROFL and blast all opposing factions out of existence.

The HTTP Gamespy
These are the goals you have to accomplish to finish the mod. The ones in paranthesis will be done in a cutscene. The WC cutscene will be triggered when you enter the bridge of the station (or wherever the ROFL controls are placed), the PDX cutscene will be triggered when you merge with Narcissus, and the Betty cutscene will be triggered when you frob your shuttle after killing Kylie (if you run past her and frob it before killing her, she'll just shout something like "Get back here ya yellabelly!"

WorldCorp
If you're allied to Scara, he'll tell you to do this for him:

  1. Find and assassinate Deus Diablo.

  2. Hack the space station's intranet system and upload its schematics to WC.

  3. Access the Master Control Mainframe and redirect power through the Artillery Power Generators so you can turn them on.

  4. Power up the ROFL by finding the Artillery Power Generators and turning them on.

  5. (Go back to the Master Control Mainframe and use the ROFL (Remote Orbital Frequency Laser) cannon to destroy PDX.)

PlanetDeusEx
If you're allied to PDX, Phasmatis will appear on your infolink in stead, reminding you that you have to find DD and free him. When this is done, KK will appear on your infolink, and tell you to do the rest.

  1. Find Deus Diablo and escort him to the docking bay.

  2. Hack the space station's intranet system and upload the station schematics to PDX.

  3. Find the Master Control Mainframe and disable the security locks on the AI.

  4. Find the control terminal for the AI of the station, Narcissus, and upload it to your brain
    -  you'll have to kill Kylie, who followed you to the station, in order to get to the Narcissus terminal.

  5. (Ban Scara and Aunt Betty - unless Betty is already dead, of course.)

Aunt Betty
Unless you've killed Betty, he'll offer you to join him, and destroy everything. Then, the world will be rid of people trying to rule it, and anarchy shall be the form of government on the forums. This requires you to:

  1. Find the Master Control Mainframe and redirect all power through the LEETs (Large Emergency Energy Turbine) of the station.

  2. Find the LEETs and overheat them.

  3. Find the Docking Control Terminal (near the docking bay) and open the docking bay blast doors.

  4. Get back to your shuttle
    - you'll have to kill Kylie to reach your shuttle.

  5. (Escape the station before it blows up.)

The whole Kylie thing will go like this:
If you're allied to Scara, Kylie will appear in front of the shuttle if the LEETs are overheated (that is, if you chose to betray Scara). If you don't try to overheat the LEETs, you won't have to fight Kylie at all (which the fight with DD will make up for). If you're allied to PDX, Kylie will appear in front of the Narcissus control console in stead. She'll be guarding the room with the console, surrounded by the corpses of GameSpy aliens who she's had to kill to get there.

Cutscenes

Scara:
When you trigger the ROFL, the camera pans around the space station to give you a clear view of the laser. The laser fires soundlessly (have some music though). The scene then cuts to PDX, showing the sky brightening, and you see people from below, so you can see the sky. You'll hear someone say "bugger", but not with much expression, and then the screen will fade to white.

PDX:
When you merge with Narcissus, you see Trestkon walking over to the ban control console, where DD is waiting for him, and operating it. You then see Scara standing in his office, looking up at the sky. He'll shout something like "Trestkon, you insolent fool! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!" He is then pulverised with a scream.

Then, Scara and Betty are seen floating in a white void, talking about whose fault it was, and eventually reaching the conclusion that they will return! (MUHUHUHAHAHAHAHAA!)

Aunt Betty:
The shuttle is seen leaving the space station, which then explodes magnificently. Then, the camera soars through the dark and powerless streets, where some litter tumbles along. The camera stops outside of PDX HQ, where the PDX'ers minus Despot are leaving the building. Phas stops for a moment and looks at the empty building, and then he follows the others out of the picture.
