DXChallenge v2, released 17 May 2014

This is a modification for original Deus Ex (2000) game from Ion Storm. It adds specific challenges to the game to make it harder. Note that the BioMod modification also has challenges but they are implemented differently, there are less of them and they are much less granular. If you fail any challenge, you will die immediately. It is based on my previous mod DXStats, so all functionality from that is included. You can read the readme for DXStats below.

How to install:
1. Make a backup copy of your <Deus Ex>/System/DeusEx.u file
2. Unzip the new DeusEx.u file into the <Deus Ex>/System/ folder

What challenges are there:

* Do not kill anyone - You should not kill anyone, both hostiles and friendlies. You must not destroy any bots.
* Do not knock anyone out - You should not knock anyone out or stun, both hostiles and friendlies.
* Do not trigger any alarms - No alarms should be triggered, whether by AI, cameras or lasers.
* No firearms allowed - No shooting from firearms. That includes pistols, stealth pistols, assault rifles, sawed-off shotguns, assault shotguns and sniper rifles. You will still be able to pick them up and drop them.
* No heavy weapons and explosives - No shooting from heavy weapons and no explosives. That includes flamethrowers, GEP guns, LAMs, LAWs and plasma rifles. Yes, that also means explosive crates. You will still be able to pick them up and drop them.
* No saves allowed - No saving or quicksaving allowed ingame, except for autosaves at the beginning of each level.
* No lockpicks allowed - No lockpicking doors and containers with lockpicks, you'll have to find a key or destroy it. You can still pick them up and drop them.
* No multitools allowed - No manipulating code locks, alarms, cameras, etc with multitools. You can still pick them up and drop them.
* No hacking allowed - You cannot hack computers, security consoles and ATMs.
* No medkits allowed - You cannot heal using medkits. You can still pick them up and drop them. Using medbots is allowed.
* No biocells allowed - You cannot absorb energy from bioelectric cells. You can still pick them up and drop them. Using repair bots is allowed.
* No augmentations allowed - You cannot install any new augmentations except the basic light. You can pick up and drop augmentation canisters.
* Do not alert hostile AI - Any alerted hostile AIs will result in failing this challenge. Shooting friendlies will result in the same. Note that you have some time to hide when the AI notices you - that counts as potential alert instead.
* Do not receive damage - Receiving any damage is lethal. That includes falling damage, environment damage (burning, radiation, etc), projectile/melee damage, tear gas, poison gas, stun damage and drowning.

DXStats v3, released 11 Jan 2013

This is a small Deus Ex modification that counts different player statistics during the gameplay. I mainly intended it for people who want to do ghosting and like to keep track of their performance during the playthrough. At the start of the new game player will receive an item called PPM (personal performance monitor) in his inventory. ATM it looks like the ambrosia can but I will probably find a more suitable replacement later. The item description will show various stats like these:

* Potential alerts - each time the enemy sees player but is not yet sure it's him, this goes up
* Hostiles alerted - this counts when player is seen and attacked or when player's shots are heard (or if they hit someone). I will probably also implement the "possible alerts" stats that will be triggered when an NPC sees player but he gets out of the way before NPC is alerted
* Alarms triggered - by a guard running to an alarm, by crossing the red lasers or by a camera that sees the player and raises an alarm
* Bodies found - counts both bodies found by civilians and military
* Cameras disabled or destroyed
* Targets killed or destroyed - total count of everything considered dead that was killed or destroyed by player
* - Hostiles
* - Neutrals
* - Friendlies
* Humans killed
* - Civilians
* - Military
* - Thugs - curiously, in the first mission all NSF soldiers are "military" but their leader is a "thug"
* Creatures killed - total count, including cats, rats, birds and fishes :) You can also see that there is no such stat in "neutralized" category. Strangely enough, stun prod does not do anything to animals in vanilla DX.
* - Dangerous ones - greasels, dogs, grays and karkians
* Bots destroyed
* Headshots - excluding the shotgun
* Targets neutralized - one of the main stats for non-lethal playthrough. Counts everything you neutralize with your stun prod plus bots disabled by EMP
* - Hostiles
* - Neutrals
* - Friendlies
* Humans neutralized
* - Civilians
* - Military
* - Thugs
* Bots disabled

All stats have a separate number in square brackets - that is the total count for current game.
