<DC=128,128,128>I've found a bug related to this forum!

Ack! Please report any forum bugs to feedback@forumplanet.com. Provide as much specific information as possible, including your browser name and version, what EXACTLY you were doing when you found the bug, and any error messages you received.

<DC=128,128,128>Do I have to register?

Nope. You can view the boards as a Guest without registering or logging in. Some boards may require that you register in order to post, though.

All registrations are handled through GameSpy ID. This means you only have one set of account information to remember, and stay logged in when you visit other ForumPlanet boards.

<DC=128,128,128>What's the "Inbox" for?

That's an area where you can log in to check for private messages sent directly to you from other forum users. You can also access your profile information here.

<DC=128,128,128>What's the "Active Topics" for?

That lists, at a glance, all the "hot" forum threads for the particular site you're visiting. If you want to just check on what's the most active topics of discussion, this is the place to look.

<DC=128,128,128>Can I include images in my post?

It depends on whether the board owner has enabled this feature. If he/she has, you should see a little "picture" icon when you go to make a new post. Click on it and enter the URL for the image you want to include.

If you don't see the image icon, then it means this feature has been disabled and you can't post images.

<DC=128,128,128>How do the icons work?

You just pick an icon from your profile setup page and it'll appear next to all your posts, even old ones.

<DC=128,128,128>I have an icon of my own I want to use. Can I do that?

Again, it depends on whether the board owner has enabled this feature. Owners can set the board to allow custom icons, or allow them after a user has reached a certain number of posts.

If this is the case, you should see a button for "Upload Icon" in your "My Profile" page. Click on it and locate the icon you want to upload. Icons must be .gif format, 50 x 50 pixels, and no larger than 5 kb in size.

If you don't see the Upload button, it either means this feature isn't available on this board or you haven't posted enough to earn it.

<DC=128,128,128>How do I make my text bold, italicized, or underlined?

Use the formatting buttons to the left of the message area when making a reply or new post.

Again, though, this is an option that can be turned off. If you don't see the buttons, then the board owner has disabled this feature.

<DC=128,128,128>How do I add links to my post?

If the board owner has enabled this, you can use the "link" button in the post/reply page. Alternatively, you can simply paste the entire URL (including the "http://" part) and the system will recognize it as a link.

<DC=128,128,128>What's up with the "ranks"?

Dude, ranks are cool! Your rank is based on the number of posts you have made on this particular board. The more posts, the higher your rank will become.

<DC=128,128,128>What's up with the topic rating system?

Users can rate each topic from one to five. The results are shown in the "rating" column.

<DC=128,128,128>Arg! I've been banned! What do I do?

Depends. If you violated some of our rules and procedures, then it's your own damn fault. Your only recourse would be to e-mail the board owner and plead your case.

<DC=128,128,128>Some guy is being a jerk! What can I do about it?

Report him/her to the board moderator, along with links to the offensive material.

<DC=128,128,128>I can say and do whatever I want here without fear of punishment, right?

Ha! Good one. No, you can't. As stated in our terms of agreement when you create an account, you can and will be banned for inappropriate conduct. To reiterate:

The overriding philosophy here on the boards can best be described as "Don't be a jerk". Use of these boards is a privilege reserved for those who know how to treat others with respect and abide by our rules of conduct.

You may NOT make posts that contain or link to the following:

- Pornography or sexual material

- Illegal files (music, warez, CD cracks/codes, or otherwise)

- Hate speech (including racism, sexism, etc.)

- Excessive profanity (especially in subject lines)

- Spam, scams, or commercial messages

If you break these rules, you run a high risk of being banned. Posters can also be banned if they are deemed a detriment to the peace keeping of the forums.

Who decides what's pornographic, illegal, hateful, profane, or annoying? The Supreme Court is a little busy, so we do.

<DC=128,128,128>But that's censorship! Censorship, I say!

No, it's not. This is our forum and we have the right to make the rules. Feel free to say whatever you like on your own boards or on your own Web site.

<DC=128,128,128>Can I become a moderator?

Contact the board owner to see if he/she needs moderators. In general, we look for people with the following qualities: mature in behavior, intelligent, knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated. If you're looking to be a moderator just because you want to be cool and ban people, then think again.
