<JC>Section 7c: Procedures for the storage and transportation of generator coolant fluid</JC>

The array of annihilation plants which act as the main power source for the station require a constant supply of coolant fluid cycling in from the main feed and into the coolant control facility. The coolant is comprised of a highly unstable mix of chemicals, and it must not come into contact with other critical systems of the annihilation assembly. The pipes which transport the coolant have been constructed with this in mind, and while they allow for quick heat transfer, they are also reinforced with several layers of armour plating.

The main engineering chute serves as the primary access point to the exposed coolant pipes and must be kept entirely free of oxygen contamination at all times. Conversely, hard vaccuum is to be avoided as this causes risks of oxygen contamination in case of a break in the vaccuum seal. The recommended atmospheric mix is 15% nitrogen / 85% helium. Hydraulic pumps have been installed at the bottom of the chute in order to filter out and remove all oxygen from the room and maintain the proper atmospheric mix surrounding the exposed coolant pipes. This would drastically limit the damage caused by a hypothetical explosion.

<DC=192,0,0>Emergency protocol 7c

In case of emergency, the hydraulic pumps may be disabled. However, this will result in the dissipation of the nitrogen-helium atmospheric mix and the re-entry of oxygen into the chute. It is recommended that disabling the hydraulic pumps be undertaken only in cases of extreme emergency. All routine maintenance is to be performed by personnel wearing full space or hazmat suit gear. To disable the hydraulic pumps, turn both emergency shut-down valves located in Engineering Room 002 ninety degrees clockwise. The hydraulic pump re-initialization process is considerably more complicated and is described in detail in technical practice aid NH-157.3.

Any and all unauthorized initiations of emergency shutdown protocols are considered violations of Section 1, paragraph 2 of the Gamespy General Security Directive and will result in immediate suspension of all offenders, with further corrective action to be undertaken at the discretion of the commanding officer on the scene.
